Advanced Time and Depth Imaging

PRIMA offers a variety of 3D pre-stack time and depth migration algorithms to address the most complex imaging problems. Imaging solutions include Kirchhoff pre-stack time and depth migration and shot domain Wave Equation 3D pre-stack depth migration.

Kirchhoff 3D Pre-Stack Time Migration
  • Calculates curved rays traveltimes providing 6th order accuracy
  • Imaging beyond 90 degrees
  • Flexible anti-aliasing control
  • No memory limitation using large velocity models
  • Complete control of output including, inlines, crosslines, oblique lines and offset ranges
  • Output frequency specified as a function of time
  • True amplitude preservation

Kirchhoff 3D Pre-Stack Depth Migration

  • Can use multiple travel time files for a single migration job
Wave Equation 3D Pre-Stack Depth Migration
  • Shot domain-based
  • Up to 90 degrees dip response
  • Uses exact-unsmoothed velocity model
  • Common angle of incidence image gathers with optional nonlinear offset binning
  • Minimal operator noise as compared to Kirchhoff migrations
  • Addresses multi-arrival problems inherent with many ray path-based Kirchhoff migrations

Gather Conditioning

Proper data conditioning is crucial to successful AVO analysis. PRIMA includes the necessary tools.
  • RVEL: High-resolution, non-semblance-based, automatic residual velocity updating
  • XMO: Automatic high-order travel-time based gather flattening
  • Residual noise rejection, demultiple, offset dependant scaling
  • Point AVO with compensation for wavelet stretch and offset-dependent tuning
  • Stable 3-term linear regression for AVO parameters (A,B,C)
  • Overburden correction based on A-B joint statistics
