Ungava Fault Zone
Since 1999 TGS-NOPEC has acquired more than 18,000 km of 2D seismic offshore West Greenland. The new data has been compiled into an integrated exploration report including grav/mag and seismic data.
The seismic line example crosses the Ungava Fault Zone and demonstrates the presence of deep basins and structures indicating the presence of a major hydrocarbon province. The Ungava Fault Zone connects the onshore oil seeps on Disko-Nussuaq with the gas discoveries on the Canadian Labrador coast. The prospective trend is at the size of the North Sea Basins.
