Mississippi Canyon 3-D Revival is a new Kirchhoff Pre-Stack Time Migration reprocessing project, encompassing 627 OCS Blocks in Mississippi Canyon. This project is one of the largest 3-D seismic programs ever recorded in North America.
The Mississippi Canyon Revival project incorporates the latest algorithms for 3-D Kirchhoff PreSTM and advanced multiple suppression techniques. The Revival dataset is distinct and improved from the original processing with the inclusion of the following processes and deliverables:
- Debubble
- Surface Related Multiple Elimination (SRME)
- Deterministic Deconvolution
- Continuous Velocity Analysis
- Full 3D Kirchhoff PreSTM
- Corridor Stack set (near, near mid, far mid, far)
- Full 3-D Kirchhoff PreSTM gathers with and without NMO correction
Mississippi Canyon 3-D Revival reprocessing is scheduled to complete in early Q4, 2004 with approximately 400 OCS blocks available for immediate delivery today.
The new Mississippi Canyon Revival Pre-Stack Depth Project is underway and is utilizing the new Revival demultiple gathers for input. The Revival Depth Project will be processed with shot domain wave equation depth migration algorithm and is schedule to complete in 2005.
The illustration below shows the comparison of the original time processing to the new Revival processing. You can see that the sediments below the salt edge and sediment basins have greatly improved as well as the imaging of the salt.
