The bid round offshore Madagascar in the Morondava Basin is underway, closing November 15, 2006. TGS has 11,826 km of newly acquired data in less than 3000meters of water, covering this basin. TGS also have data north of this basin in the deeper Majunga Basin. This 8389 km of data is just now starting to be made available to industry.
Acreage in the Majunga basin has been picked up quickly and the number of companies participating in the Morondava Basin Bid Round supports the idea of this being one of the last frontier areas.
