TGS-NOPEC's North Sea Renaissance program (NSR03) will provide long offset data that will cover the entire North Sea Basin on a regular grid.

Amplitude Versus Offset (AVO) analysis has become a standard exploration tool in recent years, but most of the 2D & 3D datasets recorded to date do not have sufficiently large offsets to be used as a conclusive AVO analysis tool.

The Pilot survey lines demonstrate the excellent AVO potential and deep imaging capabilities of these new long offset data.  Our aim now is to extend the program to complete a pre defined grid over specific areas as requested and funded by Exploration Companies.

The line below, crossing the Central Graben enables interpretation of the Permain rift phase including intra and base Permian (Rotliegendes) reflectors.  Even pre-Permian structures are visible down to 8.5 seconds two way time.
