North Sea Renaissance 2003-2007

TGS-NOPEC's North Sea Renaissance long offset 2D program will by the end of the 2007 season have reached 85.000 km. The survey is expected to continue to grow also in the coming years to cover the entire North Sea Basin with at least a 5 x 5 km regular grid. More Info

Norwegian Sea - Rås Basin

The Rås Basin and in particular the Cretaceous interval is a challenging task due to its severe noise problems.  The bright set of reflectors in the centre left part of the line below is a sand prone interval (Lysing Sand).  This is hardly visible on the original data or any other data from the same area. More Info

Norwegian Sea - KFW98

This seismic line in an East-West direction is from the TGS-NOPEC survey KFW98 in the Norwegian Sea. The area is on the Tertiary inversion between The Ormen Lange Gas Field and the Helland Hansen Dome. More Info

North Sea - NSR03

TGS-NOPEC's North Sea Renaissance program (NSR03) will provide long offset data that will cover the entire North Sea Basin on a regular grid. Amplitude Versus Offset (AVO) analysis has become a standard exploration tool in recent years, but most of the 2D & 3D datasets recorded to date do not have sufficiently large offsets to be used as a conclusive AVO analysis tool. More Info

North Sea - Faroe Shetland Basin

TGS-NOPEC's Faroe Shetland Basin Surveys identify a number of possible hydrocarbon plays in designated and undesignated areas in the Faroe Shetland Basin.  More Info

France - RM01

This line extends from the continental slope from the Golfe du Lion into the deep Liguro-Provençal Basin and is taken from a regional reconnaissance program, the RM01-survey, which was acquired over the deepwater Rhône fan in 2001. The data have been processed and are available on a non-exclusive basis. More Info

United Kingdom - ESB-MC-3D

TGS-NOPEC has recently completed processing on its first major multi client 3D survey in the UK.  The East Shetland Basin Survey (ESB-MC-3D) covers almost 1,000 sq km of licensed and open acreage, the majority of which is included in the UK 20th Licensing Round.   More Info

Portugal - Upper Jurassic-Cretaceous

The line is showing salt related structures in the Upper Jurassic-Cretaceous succession unconformably overlain by a Tertiary-Recent succession. A thick Lower-Middle Jurassic section, predicted to contain the main potential source rock interval in the Algarve Basin, is present below the Upper Jurassic salt. More Info

Offshore Liberia

Offshore Liberia is a vast unexplored region covering more than 100,000 km² - to water depths of 4,000 m.  There were only 7 exploration wells drilled offshore from 1970 to 1985.  All wells were drilled on the shelf & upper slope, in water depths of 100 m. to 470 m – shoreward of migration access.  Oil shows were encountered in 6 wells. More Info

Offshore Madagascar

The bid round offshore Madagascar in the Morondava Basin is underway, closing November 15, 2006.  TGS has 11,826 km of newly acquired data in less than 3000meters of water, covering this basin.  TGS also have data north of this basin in the deeper Majunga Basin.  This 8389 km of data is just now starting to be made available to industry. More Info

Red Sea Egypt

The northern Red Sea area hosts a classic triple junction of the Red Sea, Gulf of Aqaba, and Gulf of Suez rifted basins. The sedimentary succession here can be divided into prerift (pre-Miocene) and synrift (Miocene and post-Miocene) megasequences. More Info
