TGS-NOPEC has over 20,000km of modern 2D data seismic in the Makassar Straits which borders the Mahakam Delta, one of Indonesia's most prolific hydrocarbon producing areas. The data, which extends across the Straits from Kalimantan to Sulawesi, have enabled a more coherent interpretation to be constructed, revealing a number of new exploration opportunities in open acreage. The data has shown many exciting structures, often associated with spectacular amplitude anomalies.
