SUMMARY:
TGS-NOPEC Geophysical Company of Houston, Texas, an internationally recognized seismic and well log acquisition, processing, and interpretation company, has a full-time position open for a Software Developer. We are seeking a Software Developer with strong database skills to help us develop our next generation seismic data management systems.
Location: 2345 Atascocita Road, Humble, TX
The Software Developer’s primary responsibility will be the development, maintenance, and support of the company’s suite of enterprise order management, data production and e-commerce applications, tools, and databases. This person should have solid knowledge of software and database design methodologies and possess the ability to apply these principals to solve real world business problems.
This position requires experience developing enterprise applications using .NET and SQL Server in a fast-paced dynamic environment. The ideal candidate must be comfortable developing complex data intensive software applications.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelors Degree in a computer science, engineering or related area
- Expert knowledge of programming languages such as C#, JavaScript, and Visual Basic
- 2+ years experience with Microsoft .NET development technologies
- 2+ years experience working with Microsoft SQL Server, Stored Procedures, and T-SQL
- Good knowledge of Object Oriented programming fundamentals
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience in the upstream oil/gas industry
- Familiarity with seismic or well log data management
- Web development skills (HTML, JavaScript, and Web Services)
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Attention to detail and quality
- Excellent problem solving abilities
- The ability to multi-task and juggle multiple concurrent projects
- Exposure to IBM UniVerse
- Experience with Unix environments including Solaris and Linux
- Experience with tape systems including 3590, 8mm, DLT, LTO, and 3592 Library
