TGS-NOPEC Geophysical Company of Houston, Texas, an internationally recognized seismic acquisition, processing, and interpretation company has a position open for a Senior Interpretation Geophysicist.
Location: 2500 Citywest Blvd., Suite 2000, Houston, TX.
The Senior Interpretation Geophysicist’s primary responsibility will be to utilize interpretative skills to develop salt structure maps for seismic depth imaging. This person should also be able to focus on creating high-quality interpretation and developing innovative solutions to processing and imaging issues by working with other team members including processing and research geophysicists
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- BS degree in Geology or Geophysics with exposure to salt tectonics, and seismic imaging is essential. MS degree preferred
- Knowledge of the velocity modeling of salt structures preferred
- Excellent communication skills - able to relate to team members and communicate confidently with clients
- Business acumen, customer awareness and ability to create value
- Able to work as a team member with the ability to run projects single handed if required
- Experience with 2D and 3D seismic interpretation software
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Self motivated individual
- Minimum 10 years experience working as an interpreter with several years experience in GOM.
