Summary
TGS-NOPEC Geophysical Company, an internationally recognized seismic acquisition, processing, and interpretation company, has a full-time position open for a Senior Geophysicist.
Location: Stavanger NORWAY
The primary objective for this position is to act as senior geophysical interpretation team leader in TGS office in Stavanger. The position reports to the General Manager.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Senior Geophysicist will both act as team leader and project manager, as well as carrying out geophysical work related to TGS’ products and services. This work will include:
- Seismic interpretation using the Kingdom system
- Technical supervision and coaching of other geophysicists
- Project management of commissioned and multi-client seismic interpretation projects
The role will involve client contact and project generation/marketing support, and occasional overseas travel will be required.
Job Requirements:
- Degree or, preferably, post-graduate qualification in geoscience related subject
- Minimum of five years experience of seismic data interpretation preferably in an exploration group with experience of prospect identification and testing
- Prefer experience from the North Sea
- Have experience needed to act as a mentor for junior staff
- Prefer some project management experience
