Seismic Imaging Project Leader


TGS Imaging, a division of TGS-NOPEC Geophysical Company, is seeking Seismic Imaging Project Leaders with experience in 3-D prestack time or depth imaging and velocity model building in the Gulf of Mexico. We are looking for highly motivated and skilled individuals to join our successful team in Houston.


Job Description:


Seismic Imaging Project Leaders will be responsible for all phases of 2-D or 3-D time or depth processing projects, including velocity model building. Other responsibilities include interfacing with clients (internal or external) regarding project status, QC, and interpretation. The project leader may also be responsible for mentoring and/or managing other personnel.  More Info

Job Requirements


  • Bachelors or Masters degree in geophysics, geology, physics or math preferred, but will consider other degrees.
  • 5 years minimum experience processing 3-D marine time and/or depth projects.
  • Enjoys working in a team environment but can work independently.
  • Good grasp of geophysical and geological principles. Knowledge of salt tectonics and building depth velocity models in the Gulf of Mexico is a plus.
  • Experience with UNIX and/or Linux based software packages and workstations.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Ability to manage projects proficiently with little supervision.  Excellent problem solving and multi-tasking skills.
  • Ability to organize and run meetings with clients and internal personnel. 
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.  Good command of the English language is a must.
  • Motivated to produce superior quality products while adhering to project timelines.
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office.
