SUMMARY:
TGS-NOPEC Geophysical Company of Houston, Texas, an internationally recognized seismic acquisition, processing, and interpretation company, has 2 full-time positions open for a Depth Imaging Geophysicists with some experience in 2-D or 3-D prestack time and/or depth imaging. We are looking for highly motivated individuals to join our successful team.
Location: 2500 CityWest Blvd., Suite 2000, Houston, TX
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Depth Imaging Geophysicists will be responsible for working on all phases of 2-D or 3-D depth processing projects with minimal supervision.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelors or Masters Degree in geophysics, geology, physics or math preferred, but will consider other degrees
- 2 - 5 years “hands-on” experience processing 2-D or 3-D marine time or depth projects
- Good grasp of geophysical and geological principles
- Knowledge of salt tectonics in the Gulf of Mexico is a plus
- Experience with UNIX and/or Linux based software packages and workstations
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong organizational communication skills. Good command of the English language is a must
- Enjoys working in a team environment but can work independently
- Excellent problem solving and multi-tasking skills
- Willingness to work on challenging projects
- Proficient in the use of MS Office
